Across The Universe Day!

NEW HOLIDAY ALERT: Across The Universe Day! - February 4th

This is a REAL holiday, people. Not just in Belgravia. It is a big deal!

I'm a member of The Fest For Beatles Fans Mailing List, and they sent me this. It said to pass it along, so I figured, where better to post it than here to get the word out! I think its totally awesome and a really cool idea.

This is copied and pasted exactly from the e-mail:

PLEASE SHARE THIS FAB MESSAGE OF PEACE & LOVE ACROSS THE UNIVERSE OF YOUR ADDRESS BOOK!!!  The Beatles Go Into Space On Monday!     It's true... Yes It Is... it's true!

Monday is officially "Across The Universe Day!" all over the world - and courtesy of the US space agency NASA - across the universe too!

"Across The Universe" is the first song to ever be beamed into Deep Space - and it happens on the exact 40th anniversary of the Beatles recording the song at Abbey Road.

It’s the 50th anniversary of NASA – and the 50th anniversary of key developments in the evolution of the Beatles.  It was in February 1958 that George joined John and Paul in what - two years later - became the Beatles.  It was also in 1958 that they made their very first recordings.

Paul and Yoko have given this fabulous celebration their blessing - and sent NASA some lovely words of encouragement.

And Beatles fans worldwide are encouraged to join in by playing the song at the exact same time as it is being beamed into space.  Let’s create some Fab harmonic convergence all across the universe!

It all happens this coming Monday (February 4th) at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT. (12 midnight in the UK)

And the launch of the Beatles song into space will be carried live on the internet!

All the details - including where to see the launch online – and a world clock telling folks what time it will be happening in other places - are on the official website for Across The Universe Day!

The day after “Across The Universe Day” sees the DVD release of the spectacular movie musical “Across The Universe” – which features no less than 34 Beatles songs – and is a Fab homage to the Beatles.  We have that brand-new DVDs available here!
#2214 is the Deluxe 2 DVD Set.
#2216 is the Blu Ray Hi Definition DVD

And the movie soundtrack album available here - #1655

And the Across The Universe spirit will continue through February and March as we countdown to the first Fest of 2008 – taking place on the weekend of March 28/29/30 in New York.

At the New York Metro Fest we are very proud that we will be presenting some of the stars of the film.  Currently four of the six lead actors are planning to attend – and will give their first public live performance of some of the Beatles songs in the film!  Click here for full details of the NY Metro Fest!

We are very proud that Across The Universe Day and the beaming of the Beatles into outer space by NASA was dreamt up and organized by our very own Martin Lewis  – who has been Master of Ceremonies at all our NY and Western USA (L.A./Vegas) conventions since 1991.  Martin also secured the special messages from Paul and Yoko.  He will share all the inside stories about NASA beaming the Beatles Across The Universe at all three Fests this year.
The Fest is proud to be Official Supporters of Across The Universe Day! Read The News Today Oh Boy!

Hey Mikey, this is Amy (aka train_to_dreams), the Mod over at xcloud_9x. I saw this community in your friend journal and think it's neat!

Even cooler, you're also a Monkees fan! ^_^

My fiance actually told me about them sending 'Across the Universe' into space and thought it was one of the coolest things this century! Would you mind if I added you to my friends? :)
